Free Methodist World Missions Asia Area Director Steve Evoy recently announced his resignation from his position, effective July 31, 2014. According to a statement from the Board of Bishops, Evoy will re-enter the pastoral ministry in the Free Methodist Church – USA in the coming year.
“He has served with distinction in Asia and has been a blessing to denominational leadership in the FMCUSA as well as our international partners. Though his service has been brief, Steve has left his mark on our ministry,” the bishops said. “Please pray for Steve, Jenny and their children as they resume service in an area of their highest desire and calling ― pastoring and leading people into deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Also, pray for Steve as he is in need of regular medical treatment for an illness acquired on his recent trip to Asia. We would also seek your prayer for the present and future missionaries and leaders of the Free Methodist Church in Asia.”
